RECURRING EVENTS
COOKERY CLUB
Our monthly cookery club brings women together through food, culture and conversation. Each month, one of our participants demonstrates a traditional dish from their culture, while others are welcome to bring a dish from home to share. We then sit down together to enjoy the food, exchange stories and spend quality time together.
TEA & CHAT
Each year, we come together with members of our local church community for Afternoon Tea. Our volunteers prepare a delicious selection of homemade food for everyone to share while enjoying meaningful conversations and strengthening friendships within our wider community.
elderly home
Each year, our volunteers visit a local residential care home to celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day with the residents. We bring small thoughtful gifts, share conversations and spend quality time together, bringing a little extra joy to their day.
PAST EVENTS
Ladies' night fundraiser
Our June 2026 Ladies' Night brought women from across the community together for an evening of friendship and celebration, while supporting a meaningful cause. Organised entirely by our volunteers, including a professional henna artist and belly dancing instructor, the event featured a raffle, homemade food, henna, dancing and music, creating a space where women could connect. Together, we raised over £3,000 for 12 medically evacuated families receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital, with all funds shared equally between the families.
REFUGEE SUPPORT COLLECTION
Working in partnership with a local secondary school, we organised a community donation drive to support families displaced by war from Ukraine and Afghanistan. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the local community, we collected clothing, hygiene products, nappies, brand-new duvet sets and other essential items. Our volunteers carefully sorted every donation by size, gender and type before delivering them to a hotel housing refugee families. By working closely with organisers on site, we ensured the donations reached the families who needed them most, demonstrating the power of community collaboration and compassion.
COMMUNITY TRIPS
Our national and international trips give women the opportunity to explore new places, experience different cultures and enjoy quality time together. Over the years, we have organised trips to Turkey, Ireland, Edinburgh, Wales and other parts of Scotland, as well as visits to historic destinations including Bath, Bibury and Stonehenge. We have also arranged guided tours of Central London, including theatre and musical outings.
These trips are about much more than travel- they're about sharing experiences, building friendships and creating memories that last a lifetime. Whether exploring somewhere new or simply enjoying each other's company, every outing brings our community closer together.
